During an event at the building on Tuesday, the center received an award of $550,221 from the Rural Development branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support the expansion of programs at the Advanced Manufacturing Center.
President Joe Biden, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and Senator Joe Manchin announced on Friday, September 2 that the U.S. Economic Development Administration has chosen the Appalachian Climate Technologies Coalition (“ACT Now Coalition”) for a package of grant awards totaling $62.8 million, leveraged with another $26 million in match from non-federal sources, for economic development projects in southern West Virginia coalfield communities.
WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Appalachian Climate Technology (ACT Now) coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades.
